I am in the position of potentially having done a lot of work for no reason . . . it depends if the swing-o-meter that is management decides to make another U-turn (in corp-speak "We are advancing on all fronts . . .")
So, just to relax with, here's a bit of Mr Bungle.

You tend to get a lot of people stabbed by fencing in the countryside then? Must look a lot like 15th century Romania!
Fortunately I get paid come what may, but having several projects and jobs on the go means that time spent on one is time *not* spent on others, which in the case of this one (which has already been delyed 4 months by people arsing about) makes we wonder what I *could* have been doing for the business in the meantime . . .

When I read 'fencing night', I had visions of you standing in a dark field wielding a wire strainer and an auger. Then I realised that I am a country bumpkin. How sad!
At least (I hope) you get paid for wasted work. As a freelancer, I often can't charge if a client messes about with objectives - I should be able to of course, but sometimes a continuing relationship will be more valuable than immediate reward. The trick is working out when...
