I notice from Metro that in Khazakhstan, an egg laid by a chicken is being revered by locals because it has "Allah" aparently written on the shell.
So we have "Allah" on an egg, a fish, statues of Ganesha guzzling milk and various apparitions of Christ and Mary appearing on slices of toast, bagels, etc.
Does anyone else find it reassuring that whilst the world edges closer to annihilating itself through war and eco-meltdown, our omniscient and benevolent deities are hard at work spelling out their names on food substances and aquatic pets?
Doesn't it just re-inforce that special place you always felt you had in the scheme of things, when instead of some crass and ostentatious display of power such as saving millions from starvation, sickness or butchery at the hands of other people, God decides to grace you with a blobby image of him/her/itself in a soggy piece of marmite toast?
We're completely doomed as a species if the best that our invented deities can come up with is a sense of priorities like this.
"Guide mankind to transcendent understanding and harmony? Well, I'd rather have queues of people pouring a bewildering array of milk products over my effigy, thanks".
Then again, they do move in mysterious ways, so I'm told. Although in the last case, avoid any shrine on a warm, sunny day. See "stinkymilk" for an explanation why.

In some Eastern cultures symbolism is very important. Perhaps God is showing himself in breakfast food so that people will trust him with the big things in life
